It’s the 1st of May, also known as 'TutorCruncher Newsletter Day'!

Below you can read about all the bigger and smaller changes and updates that have been to TutorCruncher during the month of April 2019.

Bigger Changes

Import Custom Fields:

Previously, when you wanted to import your users into TutorCruncher using the Data Import functionality, you had to download a template, fill it out, and upload it again. The import feature worked perfectly fine, however, we made some changes to its functionality to make your lifes even better. So, how does this new feature work?

All you have to do is upload an XLSX/CSV file with your users their data, and accounts will automatically be created for them. The most exciting change that we've made to the Import feature is that you are now able to import Custom Field data! This can be extremly usefull if you need to import extra user information like particular educational requirements.

It might happen that you have made a mistake in your file, but that is no problem! The system will automatically tell you where the mistakes are, and how to fix it, so that your import process runs as smooth as possible.

Create Roles through the API

The API allows your webdevelopers to use information from your TutorCruncher Account on your website.

With this new update, your webdevelopers can now use our API to create roles as well. This means they can now build things for your website like an inquiry form for Tutors specifically, which will automatically create a TutorCruncher account for them after submitting it. Click here to browse our API.

Other Changes

As always, we’ve made some smaller changes as well. These are some of our favorites:

  • Stripe Webhook: We've made it easier for you to view your clients's Stripe profiles via a link on their page.

  • We've made some neat changes to our Export feature, so that you can export more data in a more efficient way.

  • The Content Security Policy (CSP) update has gone live. CSP is an additional layer of security that helps to mitigate and detect certain types of attacks, including data injection and Cross Site Scripting attacks. We always aim to make TutorCruncher as save as possible, so doing this is of great importance to us. One of the consequences of implementing this policy is that we had to block any inline JavaScript from executing. However, this doesn't mean that you are no longer able to use Custom JavaScript within TutorCruncher, see our previous newsletter for more information.

  • Within the body of the automated emails that you can send with TutorCruncher, you are able to include variables that will change depending on the person you are sending it to. We have expanded the variables that you can use in these emails, so that you can give your clients even more information than before.

  • Each company in TutorCruncher has its own web-pages on which their users create or login to their account. You are now able to change the looks of your Signup/Login pages with Custom CSS/JavaScript, so that you can make these pages more alligned with your brand.
