Secure passwords and multi-factor authentication
TutorCruncher ensures strong account security by encrypting passwords in the database with SHA-256, a secure hashing algorithm that protects user credentials by converting passwords into a unique, irreversible hash. This prevents passwords from being stored in plain text and adds a robust layer of protection against unauthorized access.
TutorCruncher offers multi-factor authentication (MFA), requiring users to verify their identity through an extra step, typically using a code sent to their mobile device or generated by an authenticator app.
Tutor permissions
You decide whether tutors manage their own availability and bookings, or whether only staff can update lesson statuses. Client privacy is protected by default: tutors don’t see client email addresses when writing reports, and the exact job location stays hidden on listings until a tutor is assigned.

TutorCruncher runs on Heroku’s secure infrastructure, with automated patching, encryption at rest and in transit, and strict access controls.
AI access on your terms
When you connect an AI assistant, like Claude or ChatGPT, you approve read or write access separately for each area of your account, and you can revoke it at any time in Settings, keeping you in control.
